It happened first with Neil Gorsuch.  And now, in the wake of Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, NeverTrumpers have been asked again whether they can finally admit they were wrong and join their brothers and sisters on the Right who support the president.

As I hope I’ve shown in Part 1, there’s an awful lot that can hang on that word support.  And answering whether or not those who don’t support Trump as a matter of conservative pr...

In my view, there were two—and only two—legitimate reasons for voting for Trump: 1) because you believed he’d make a good president, and/or 2) because you believed he would at least be a better president than Hillary.  In the runup to the 2016 presidential election a cast of characters as eclectic as that Star Wars cantina scene emerged to quantify the unquantifiable and defend their decision to vote for Trump on...

We are an increasingly divided nation.  Americans continue to give conflicting visions at the ballot box of which direction the country should be headed.  The two candidates for president seem to represent the more extreme versions of status quo (Clinton) or “let’s burn this place down” (Trump).  Neither candidate has a popular mandate.  In fact, Americans’ distaste of both party’s candidates is record breaking.

About Saving Elephants

Millennials defending and expressing conservative values.

Liberty has never been in a more precarious predicament.  As the Left sees a resurgence in socialism the Right is experiencing a rise in populism, nationalism, and authoritarianism.  Once the champions of conservative values, the Republican party is devolving into a group of self-serving career politicians with some even seeking to replace conservatism with blatant bigotry and reactionary fear.

If conservatism is to survive in the 21st century it will be up to Millennials.  How?  First by having a solid understanding of what it means to be a conservative and why that matters now more than ever.  And that's exactly what Saving Elephants is all about.  Here you will learn what values conservatives affirm and how conservatism differs from competing ideologies.  Only then will you be equipped to defend and express conservative values to a culture desperate for civil political dialogue, meaningful, vibrant communities, and purpose beyond material possessions.

It’s time the Republican party got back to its roots.  It’s time to re-ignite conservatism for Millennials!
